Hopefully this blog post actually happens, else the world is in trouble. This post should automatically update 9-9-09 at 12:45 PM, which is when I walk into the MTC.
I'm going on a mission! I will be totally out of the loop for a while, and I don't mind. I should be set apart by this time, unless something dreadful happened.
I'm very excited to be going. I will have the opportunity to share the recipe for happiness with people, and I can't imagine much that's greater than that.
For those who would still like to keep up with my day to day life, I've created a blog that should update while I'm gone. You can find it here: http://rissica.blogspot.com/
There are a few thoughts that will update for a while, and then I intend to write a letter or two to keep you all informed.
For those of you who would like to stay in touch with me, feel free to use Dear Elder.com to write me while I'm in the MTC. I don't know my PO Box yet, but I'm going to the Tokyo, Japan mission and you hopefully know my name. Writing letters to the MTC is free through Dear Elder, and it takes the cost of postage to write me in Japan using the same method. As soon as I know my new e-mail address, I'll let you know, but in the meantime my e-mail has not changed. But please, whatever you do, INCLUDE A MAILING ADDRESS. I may be able to READ the e-mails, but the mission rules state I can only e-mail my family. If you want a response, it's gonna be paper, and it's gonna NEED YOUR ADDRESS.
I AM ESPECIALLY TALKING TO YOU K LA. It shames me that I do not know where you live.
Well, bye for now! Hopefully I actually walked to the MTC like I'm planning. That should be awesome.

Oh. THIS is what it feels like, then.
You know how you want to take it easy so you put some things off until tomorrow?
I HAVE RUN OUT OF TOMORROWS.

Sigh. All well.
So, update on the tooth thing: The dentist filled it AGAIN, and it STILL hurts. But I'm giving it four more brushings and then we'll see. My teeth hurt sometimes and sometimes just brushing a lot fixes it. Shrug.
Seriously, I'd rather have it rot than have him work on it again. Imagine having a toothache. Now imagine a dentist trying to cure this toothache with a drill and some glue. With no pain killer, because he's not touching root or anything...Now imagine that even the air he blows onto the tooth hurts and you'll know what the appointments have been like. It's a case of the cure being worse than the disease.
In other news, I found the backup of my webcomic pages. The bad news is, I had backed it up BEFORE page 50, so I'm still missing 40 pages, 50-90. le-sigh.
Not sure what to do about that.

Teething troubles
Okay, so, one of my molars was bugging me. There was like...a hole. And if anything sweet or cold touched the hole, it hurt. So I went to the dentist. He said it wasn't a cavity, but it was sensitivity.
So he filled it.
Now the whole TOOTH hurts. If ANYTHING touches it, hot, cold, pressure of any kind, it stings.
I left it alone, hoping it was just a reaction to being worked on. Then I ate acid (really) and my whole mouth killed for a bit. Now that tooth hurts when I breathe.
The acid thing was dumb (curse you, sour patch!), but what on earth am I supposed to do now? I don't want to go back to the dentist because he doesn't think there's anything wrong, and I'm starting to wonder how good he is. I mean, me? No cavities in over a year? Come ON. I barely take care of my poor teeth and I live on a diet of sugar.
Maybe my teeth have adapted and my dentist is as awesome as I originally thought. But my tooth is seriously killing me.

Getting Closer...
I had my farewell on Sunday. It was fun. I'm told it was a pretty good talk, so I'm satisfied. Having the extended family over was awesome, and we had an interesting weekend getting all the chairs, food, and greenery ready. I was so happy to see many of my aunts and uncles again, including the St. George folk, which caught me by surprise!
Acius was telling me to take a lot of pictures because people wouldn't believe how big our family is. That got me thinking. My extended family is pretty big (about 90 people came, and they were direct cousins and family only), but isn't that pretty normal? How big is your family, anyway?
I had a wonderful farewell, and I thank everyone who came, and apologize to those I may have forgotten to invite, or those who weren't able to attend. Maybe next time!
I'm starting to wrap up all my preparations and getting into the packing stages of things: packing my bags and packing my room.
Oh, yeah. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WANT TO TAKE MY MANGA:
I'm currently planning on giving my entire collection to Acius while I'm gone. Since most of you who want access to the manga have SOME way of getting to Acius (he's in the D&D group, if nothing else), I thought that might stand the greatest chance of you guys borrowing manga and me actually getting it back at the end. I've asked him to write down who has what, so it's like a really relaxed library.
Hope that works for you. If it doesn't, let me know, we can work something else out. I could keep all the manga in my room and have it be a self-sufficient library too, but I'm still thinking about that. I'd almost prefer having a keeper. Any thoughts are welcome.

I am happy and angry
I am happy because this week is going well and I just finished a big programming project. Also, today is Smash and Starcraft tournament day. Whee!
I am angry because I was practicing Smash by playing all the Boss Battles on hard. I got to the 9th battle (out of 10) and I was doing really well, until...

Lucas decided that instead of an airborne downward attack he just wanted to jump off the edge and die.
Sigh.
Oh, this image is from this website. It's like an online blog, but instead of typing you have to draw everything. I love the idea, even if I'm not the best at execution.
